Economic Lifestyle

Since I do not know of any people who are in the speech pathology field and have not taken any of my Major classes yet, I spoke to my advisor, Ms. Kendall Tope. She looks very young and she is a graduate student. Over one million students in special education have communication disorders. Speech-language pathologists work with these students to develop and improve their communication skills. There is a growing need for school-based speech-language pathologists and it is one of the fastest-growing professions because it is in high demand.
Employers of speech-language pathologists include: schools, universitie, hospitals, offices, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and hearing centers. There are also competitive salaries, favorable schedules, and ongoing professional development. A Master's degree is required to enter the field. One half of speech pathologists work in schools while the other half are employed in healthcare institutions.
One thing about this profession that is important is considering that it values and ctively recruits dedicated individuals, including those with diverse backgrounds and experiences. I am thinking that the qualifications are most important in finding and maintaining a job as a speech pathologist but it also requires patience because results and progress take time. Also, an understanding of cross cultural communication is needed as well.
